Mr Wayne Lee is the Founder, Chairman and CEO of W Capital Markets who has over 20 years of experience in the investment banking & corporate finance industry advising on cross border M&As, leveraged buyouts, lead-managing IPOs on the Singapore Exchange and acting as Financial Adviser to SGX listed companies. Furthermore, he has completed many equity capital markets fund raising transactions, including Pre-IPO, placement of listed company shares, convertible bonds and preference shares.

Wayne has developed an extensive network and strong relationship with many prominent international buyout & private equity funds and family offices. He has completed more than 80 corporate finance deals including the “Best PE Exit of the Year” in 2013 awarded by the Singapore Venture Capital Association.

Prior to founding W Capital Markets, Wayne was the CEO, Executive Director & Head of Corporate Finance at Tata Capital Markets (wholly-owned subsidiary of the Indian Tata Group) where he started and built its investment banking business over a span of 7 years in Singapore. Wayne also held several senior corporate finance positions at various established financial institutions, including AmFraser Securities, Hong Leong Finance, Daiwa Securities SMBC and UOB Asia.

Wayne holds a Masters of Science (MSc) in Financial Economics from Cardiff University and Bachelor of Business from Nanyang Technological University. He is also a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (“CAIA”) and a Chartered Valuer & Appraiser (“CVA”). Wayne currently sits on the Advisory Board of the CAIA Singapore and was on the Executive Committee as its Treasurer from 2012 to 2019. Wayne also sits on the CMFAS Exams Industry Panel for Corporate Finance and is a council member of the Institute of Valuers and Appraisers, Singapore (“IVAS”).

In 2022, Wayne won the prestigious EYA Entrepreneur of the Year - New Entrepreneur Category (please refer to our "News & Events" section for a corporate video on Wayne winning the EYA award).

Mr Sin is currently a Consultant with Drew & Napier LLC. Prior to that, he was the Deputy Managing Director of the Corporate & Finance Department and the Co-head of the Capital Markets Practice in Drew & Napier LLC for 17 years. Mr Sin is recognized in industry publications as an industry leader and for his expertise in capital markets. He also specializes in corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions.

Mr Sin was a Member of Parliament for Tampines GRC from 1996 to 2011. In appreciation of his valuable public services rendered to the Ministry of Home Affairs, Mr Sin was conferred the Singapore National Day Award - “The Public Service Star (Bintang Bakti Masyarakat)” in 2018 and “The Public Service Medal (Pingat Bakti Masyarakat)” in 2013 by the President of Singapore. Additionally, in recognition of his constant support and contributions to the Labour Movement, Mr Sin received the NTUC May Day Award – “Distinguished Service Award” in 2018, “Meritorious Service Award” in 2013 and “Friends of Labour Award” in 2003.

Mr Sin received his Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws (Honours) degrees from the National University of Singapore and a Master of Laws from the University of London.

Mr Tan is the Executive Chairman of the Board of Food Empire Holdings Ltd. He served as Managing Director from April 2000 until October 2, 2012. Mr. Tan is a founder of the Group and has been instrumental in guiding the Group’s business, including taking the company public in 2000.

A passionate believer in the power of brands, Mr. Tan is actively involved in the marketing and branding activities across the Group. Mr Tan is also actively involved in the local grassroots community since 1990. He received the Ministry of Education Service to Education Award 2014, and was awarded the Public Service Medal in 2014 for his contributions to the society and business.

Nanshan Group is the second largest shareholder of W Capital Markets and is a conglomerate with diversified businesses globally and ranked among the Top 200 enterprises in China. The two nominee directors from Nanshan Group are as follows:

Mdm Chen Aijun is currently the director of NSG Investment Pte Ltd. and Nanshan Group Singapore Co Pte Ltd.

Mr Sui Xinpeng is currently executive director of Shandong Chengde International Property Management, where he is in charge of its overall management and operations.

Mr Inderbethal Singh Thakral ("Mr Bethal") is the Board Observer of W Capital Markets. Mr Bethal serves as the Chief Executive Officer and an Executive Director of Thakral Corporation, a SGX Mainboard Listed Company engaged in the business of manufacturing, logistics and property development in India, China and South-east Asia.

Mr Bethal possesses extensive experience in the distribution business where he headed the Thakral Corporation's operations in Hong Kong and China since 1984. He played an instrumental role in the listing of the Group back in 1995 as well as the transformation of the Group to markets such as Japan, Australia and Singapore.

Mr Bethal is a Director of Thakral Corporation's various subsidiaries in China, Hong Kong and Singapore and the Chairman of a charity organisation, Sahib Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji Education Trust, Hong Kong.
